      Under general supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor Supervisor or Management level position within the warehouse, the Night Receiver and Forklift Operator is responsible for making sure product is put in proper location and all coolers are properly rotated. Make sure proper rotation of product is completed on a daily basis. Will maintain and organize product in cooler daily. The Day Receiver and Forklift Operator is also responsible for following company policies & procedures and safety & security standards as well as ensuring they are in compliance with operational standards. Maintain professional relations with Day Receiving Manager, Capitol City Produce Staff, subordinates, peers and vendors.


      REQUIREMENTS

      • High school education or equivalent preferred.

      • Previous forklift operating experience is preferred.

      • Valid license required

      • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions

      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual

      • Previous experience in receiving and warehouse preferred.

      • Must be able to work weekends and overtime.

      • Move objects up to and exceeding 200 lbs with reasonable accommodation.

      • Physically able to continuously stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 60 lbs.

      • Have reliable transportation.



      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Move all produce from the dock to its designated cooler.

      • Communicate with the Outbound Lead and supervisors on truck move prioritization

      • Documents and performs truck moves on the Outbound operations

      • Performs yard checks throughout the shift

      • Responsible for insuring truck temperatures are in tolerance with company guidelines

      • Verifies and/or reports damages to equipment

      • Coordinate with warehouse team to manage the truck pool effectively in accordance with dock schedule

      • Ability to work longer shifts and/or occasional Saturday or Sunday when necessary

      • Willing to work outside in the elements (hot/cold/rain/etc.)

      • Documents truck moves and outbound SQF documentation

      • Other duties as required and assigned

      • Will utilize the ProducePro system and scan all pallets to complete all forklift transactions.

      • May breakdown pallets and sort product by item.

      • Will maintain, organize or rotate product in coolers daily, by moving product to its proper location.

      • Will verify that all incoming produce is properly tagged before releasing to be placed in inventory.

      • May be required to use pre-printed labels, will affix coordinating label to proper box.

      • Running product – will view produce for freshness and proper ripeness. Will remove and discard old produce from box into a trash can.

      • Throughout the warehouse, will sweep up spilled product, into dust pan, and dispose into a trash can.

      • Maintain safe and organized work environment to meet set Company safety policies.

      • Ensure that all work activities are performed with the highest standards regarding food safety and providing feedback for continuous process improvement.

      • Other duties as assigned.

      • Lifting of objects up to 75lbs may be necessary.

      • Pushing objects weighing up to 200lbs may be necessary.

      • The position requires climbing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting or bending.

      • It does require walking and standing in a consistent temperature of 34 degrees.

      • This job requires use of the following tools and equipment: sit down forklift, manual pallet jack, clipboard, pens, paperwork, invoices, produce, boxes, produce bags, broom, stand up dust pan, four wheeled cart and a 10 step ladder.


      Work Environment:


      While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works with moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures range from zero in the coolers to 95 degrees Fahrenheit or above outdoors. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer’s daily needs. The associate occasionally works in high and precarious places.
