      Job Description

      We are seeking an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join our team. This role involves conducting physical inspections of inbound railcars, ensuring their cleanliness, and documenting any defects. You will also be responsible for creating estimates based on shopping instructions and physical findings, submitting them for approval, and completing necessary documentation to ensure accurate billing and communication of completed repairs.

      Responsibilities

      • Conduct physical inspections of inbound railcars.
      • Document all running numbers and verify cleaning certificates.
      • Identify and document any defects on railcars.
      • Review shopping instructions and compare with physical findings.
      • Note any findings not on shopping instructions and communicate with the fleet manager or customer.
      • Create estimates based on shopping instructions and physical findings.
      • Submit estimates for review and approval.
      • Complete all required documentation for accurate billing and communication of repairs.

      Essential Skills

      • NDT Level II certification.
      • Experience in NDT inspection.
      • Quality control expertise.
      • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
      • Proficiency in writing reports (NCR, corrective action).

      Work Environment

      The role is based in a non-climate controlled manufacturing and repair facility, operating on a day shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays required.

      This is a Contract to hire position based out of Hockley TX 77447, working in a Shop Environment. Local position, No Per Diem

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
