      REAP Food Group, a non-profit organization based in Madison, WI, believes we can transform communities, economies, and lives through the power of good food.       To build support for our mission, we share our work and message through various forms of media, including social media. We are currently seeking a Social Media Assistant to support those efforts.

      Schedule:

      -The student employee and Communications Manager will coordinate a day and time to check in on a weekly basis, whether in-person or remotely.

      -If available, the student employee is encouraged to join in part or full the REAP Food Group weekly team meeting, currently Tuesdays from 10-11am, but subject to change.

      -If the student employee is able to, we will discuss coordinating their attendance at 1-2 events per month to capture media for social media content, dates and times TBD.

      -Outside of these expectations, the student employee may dictate their own schedule.

      Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

      Qualifications:

      Experience in social media content creation for an entity, such as a business, club, or organization, or a sophisticated level of experience for a personal account with analytics to demonstrate skill and effectiveness. The applicant should expect to share at least 3 examples of their work.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      -Skills in creating engaging and visually appealing content for social media platforms (primarily Instagram and Facebook) including copywriting, graphic design, and simple video editing. Existing tools include Canva, InDesign, and InShot.

      -The ability to use existing REAP design templates and messaging to create on-brand content.

      -As the student employee is able to attend events to capture content, skills in photo and video composition using REAP’s DSLR camera.

      -The ability to work in collaboration with and take constructive criticism from the Communications Manager and/or REAP program leads

      Position Summary/Job Duties:

      The Social Media assistant will be responsible for producing engaging content to support REAP Food Group’s social media presence and help us expand our online reach. They will be supplied with the appropriate software tools, templates, and media, and will work directly with the Communications Manager to plan, refine, and publish all content based on an agreed-upon checklist of needs.
