Job Description

- Load, operate, and unload dishwasher to specifications.
- Keep the dishwasher clean and report any functional or mechanical problems.
- Monitor dishwasher water temperature/chemical level to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Wash, sanitize, and store all tableware, kitchenware, and glassware.
- Keep the dish room clean and organized.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware/kitchenware/glassware for servers, bar, and kitchen.
- Monitor linen and trash containers and empty them when appropriate.
- Clean, sanitize, sweep, and mop all kitchen and dining room floors checking for broken items and wet areas that may be hazardous and address, as necessary.
- Handle tableware/glassware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation/production areas as required.
- Maintain sanitation buckets with proper dilution.
- Understand and follow proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.
- Flexible during shift to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the building as directed.
- Follow policies and safety procedures to Harkins’ standards.
- Prior high-volume restaurant experience preferred.
- Required to be at least 18 years of age.
- Available to work on nights, holidays and/or weekends.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, loud environment, with multiple flashing lights, while in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Required to obtain and maintain a current food handler’s card and/or food safety certification.
- Requires bending, stretching, reaching, squatting, twisting, standing, walking up and down stairs and on flat surfaces, lifting (up to 50 pounds), interacting with guests and employees, problem solving, and cognitive skills.
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Able to prioritize and work on multiple projects and tasks with frequent interruptions while maintaining flexibility and composure.
- Able to work in an environment exposed to cold, heat, and water.

The dishwasher’s primary responsibility is to clean, organize and sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, kitchen ware, all surfaces of the kitchen and dining area, and occasionally assist in cleaning the outside patio to ensure the guest has a clean and safe place to dine.
