      North America Payroll Manager

      The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

      As the North America Payroll Manager, you will have the opportunity to leverage your experience and contribute to the success of a critical organization within 3M. You will tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

      • Managing the North America (US and Canada) payroll and associated processes for a very large and complex organization where you will determine and drive organizational strategies and optimal operations through collaboration with the various functions in the HR organization as well as across the corporation such as Finance, Tax and IT.
      • Identify opportunities to drive proactive efficiencies and end to end collaboration in payroll processes.
      • Lead the energetic, dynamic North America Payroll Team. Develop and coach the team to drive payroll processes, process improvements, and operational excellence. Leading the team also includes but is not limited to:
        • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for the United States and Canada
        • Compliance with appropriate laws and regulations, including SOX and completion of associated audit activities
        • Prioritize configuration and development as it impacts and relates to the payroll function.
        • Partners in the design, development, and administration of relevant programs specific for payroll to meet business objectives
        • Management of payroll tax related processes and filings including reconciliation and actions to resolve discrepancies.

      Your Skills and Expertise

      To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

      • High School degree/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and a minimum of eight (8) years payroll experience in a private, public, government or military environment

      OR

      • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university and a minimum of five (5) years payroll experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

      Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

      • Experience leading a large, diverse organization
      • Expertise of US and Canada payroll processes and significant understanding of relevant US federal and state payroll & tax regulations and Canada taxation with federal government and the various provincial and territorial legislatures
      • Experience with Workday payroll.
      • Project Management skills with ability to facilitate and lead cross-functional project teams
      • Ability to manage and prioritize high volumes of work while adjusting to shifting priorities with high attention to detail and organization
      • Global Payroll Experience
      • Certified Payroll Professional

      Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

      Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $201,308 - $246,043, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
