      Overview

      The Emory Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Cardiac Critical Care post graduate fellowship is a one year training program that teaches residents to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative and evidence-based management of complex patients in the cardiac intensive care unit. This program attracts new graduates and established APPs seeking a structured educational program who want to become experts and leaders in their field.

      Our program combines a highly detailed competency-based curriculum with hands on learning in the clinical setting.

      Rotations incorporate cardiac care units, medical, cardiovascular surgical, general surgical, and neurological ICUs as well as brief exposures with electrophysiology, echocardiography, heart failure, nephrology, and infectious diseases services.

      Upon successful completion of the program, the fellow will be eligible for employment within Emory Healthcare and become practice leaders within the institution.

      Description

      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      • The Emory Heart & Vascular Center Division of Cardiology NP or PA Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship Program is a one-year program that prepares fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative and evidence-based management of complex patients in the cardiac intensive care unit.
      • This postgraduate Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program in Cardiac Critical Care consists of combines a highly detailed competency-based curriculum with hands on learning in the clinical setting.
      • One year of training across the spectrum of our specialty. The year is structured to meet the clinical, didactic, and research goals that will prepare the advanced practice provider for a successful career in the field of cardiology.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Completion of an accredited PA or NP master's program prior to the start of the fellowship program
      • NP candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP) or pursuing an Acute Care certification.
      • National board certification as a PA or NP
      • Eligible for licensure as a PA or NP in Georgia
      • Eligible for DEA license
      • Statement of Intent: One-page, 12-point font, double-spaced statement describing career goals and reasons for pursing the fellowship. Include future career plans and how they might be enhanced by additional training in the fellowship. The statement of intent is NOT a cover letter and is an important document, which is included in the consideration of your application.
      • Curriculum Vitae: Current CV indicating educational background, professional experience, volunteer experience and other relevant information
      • 2 Letters of Recommendation: One must be from your school’s Program Director (New Graduate) or Supervising Physician (Currently Employed)
      • Official Transcripts
      • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.

      • 2 Letters of Recommendation: One must be from your school’s Program Director (New Graduates) or Supervising Physician (Currently Employed)
      • Official Transcripts
      • Copy of BLS and ACLS cards.

      Submission of resume and attachments must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on October 4,2023 to be considered.

      Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
