Obtain Cyber Security Assessment Team (CSAT) (CO-FLT-CYBER-SEC-ASSESS-CSAT) qualification
Provides technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility.
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect the operations or results of the work group and may have some impact on major projects or department results.
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
Conducts technical and related studies; completes non-routine technical projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; competent to design, operate and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems.
Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity.
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.
Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
Monitors operation and maintenance activities of assigned plant-installed digital process systems and components. (Examples include Operator Aid Computers, Plant Security Computer System and Chemistry data acquisition systems)
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities on a variety of computer hardware, including CPUs, I/O, networks, video monitors and storage devices. Diagnoses computer problems, determines and implements solutions
Evaluates system performance for efficiency, reliability, compliance with technical specifications and the UFSAR, and consistency with design input to engineering assumptions on system performance to support the Maintenance Rule
Develops and executes maintenance, surveillance, and other test procedures on complex, integrated plant digital process systems. Ensures adequate spare parts are identified and maintained
Prepares, provides technical support, and documents special tests as may be required for evaluation of system performance or to determine the cause of system malfunctions
Identifies system and equipment problems, analyzes failures for causes, initiates and implements appropriate corrective actions
Provides system design, installation, administration, integration and support for plant-installed digital process systems
Provides technical support to other station groups to assist with their digital process systems data needs -- retrieves and analyzes the data, and provides assistance in interpreting the data as necessary
Maintains software configuration control. Plans, schedules, coordinates and executes work activities to maintain or modify nuclear plant-installed digital process systems and components. Plans and executes work orders and work requests through established work management processes
Occasional overtime, after-hours, and weekend work
Participate in call-outs as required to support assigned work responsibilities.
Some light lifting (20-50 lbs.) involving workstations, servers, monitors etc.
Primarily office and computer room environments

Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 4 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED with minimum of 6 years related experience.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field WITH at least 6 years utility, cyber security, auditing, compliance, regulatory or related experience OR, at least 10 years utility, cyber security, auditing, compliance, regulatory or related experienced in lieu of a degree.
Minimum five (5) years work related experience (cyber security program and controls, computer technology, plant systems)
Demonstrated knowledge of real time/data acquisition/ control systems, including hardware, software, and interfaces.
Demonstrated knowledge of technical and programmatic cyber security controls and protection strategies.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer networks, servers, and cyber security related appliances.
Working knowledge of network architecture and firewall security
Demonstrated technical writing skills.
Excellent analytical ability, consultative, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization (client, staff, management, etc.)
Experience in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications and network protocols.
Previous nuclear station work experience
Previous experience with NIST cyber security controls
Demonstrated project management or leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to work on assigned projects with minimal supervision.
One year experience providing engineering, maintenance or IT services at a nuclear site on digital and/or instrumentation & control systems.
Demonstrated experience testing and patching for cyber security threats and vulnerabilities.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated experience executing the nuclear work control processes.
Qualified to CO-FLT-ENG-8010 Digital Engineering Activities
Qualified to CO-FLT-ENG-8020 Cyber Security Specialist

Job Summary
The Digital Process Systems / Cyber Security team provides support for plant-installed computers and data acquisition systems located at McGuire Nuclear Station and provides cyber security support to assess and maintain the Cyber Security Program to company, industry and regulatory standards. The Operator Aid Computer (OAC) systems monitor various plant parameters and display information in graphical or text format to Operations and other site groups such as Maintenance and Engineering. Alarming, data, archive and plant specific applications such as thermal power calculations are also supported. The Plant Security Computer System (PSCS) controls access to designated areas of the plant and also interfaces with the station's intrusion detection system (IDS).
This position will be responsible for support and maintenance to DPS Systems with a main responsibility to ensure cyber compliance of McGuire’s digital assets with the Cyber Security Program. This position will assist the Manager – DPS in ensuring assigned systems are maintained reliably in full compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements including configuration control, cyber compliance and will take actions to ensure the system will continue to perform properly through implementation of a long range life cycle plan. Support includes long-range planning for upgrades, equipment selection, application and database support and detailed troubleshooting. Support of cyber compliance activities on digital systems will play a main role in job responsibilities. Emergent support for these systems is also required.
