Position Specific Description
The Nuclear Field Associate Engineer position is a temporary position within operations that will transition to the full time Associate Nuclear Plant Operator role. Following commencement of your employment with the Company, you will be expected to apply to the Associate Nuclear Plant Operator position at St Lucie Nuclear Power Plant in the summer of 2024. The Associate Nuclear Plant Operator position is a bargaining unit position, and the recruitment, compensation and benefits will be in accordance with the FPL IBEW Memorandum of Agreement for this position.
Job Overview
This is an entry-level position within the Nuclear business unit. The position requires an engineering degree which allows advancement into multiple career paths. The first six months of the job include formal classroom training followed by approximately eight months of on-the-job training. Employees in this position are required to pass the POSS exam and work a rotating shift, as well as qualify as a fire brigade member.
