- Planning - Deploy mechanisms to govern the achievement of Manufacturing Engineering deliverables, report status, and ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales. Manage load/capacity plans and budgets.
- Develop capability - Buy-off the production readiness of new manufacturing capabilities or methods of manufacture for new parts and assemblies.
- Develop numerate, real time methods for capturing process capability, and ensure it is available and acted on within the facility/supply chain and in new product design.
- Deploy capability - Maintain Production Technical Packages (technical instructions, programmes, etc). Ensure in-scope manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture are capable of meeting requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.
- Develop talent - Act as professional leader of the Manufacturing Engineering community within the area of accountability, ensuring required competences are in place and promoting the development and growth of the community.
- Ensure the effective deployment of Technical Authority and Governance on all technical changes and compliance to Design Intent and Engineering Standards.
- Co-ordinate the technical support to operations ensuring that emergent issues are resolved in a structured and timely manner.
- Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent, higher degree preferred).
- UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent.
- Experience working in a Nuclear Manufacturing Engineering environment.
- Experience in an MEM or other Engineering leadership role.
- Proven track record of operating in at least 2 of the following ME environments – Production ME, Product Introduction, Capability Acquisition, Facility Design and Commissioning, External Supply chain.
- Proven track record of working in an operating production facility with technical accountability for manufacturing processes.
- General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
- An understanding of nuclear core design, functional requirements and manufacturing processes would be highly beneficial.
