      Description

      Under the general supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Clinical Coordinator and CT Coordinator, the incumbent must be able to perform nuclear medicine procedures and CT Scan Procedures, schedule procedures, and be able to initiate new procedures. The technologist must be a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology/nuclear medicine and/or be registered or registry eligible. Must possess a knowledge and understanding of regulatory mandates for quality control. Must be familiar and coordinate radiopharmaceuticals to patient procedures. Will participate in performance improvement activities.



      The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must be able to help move patients when needed. Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day to day operation of the department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide care needed as described in the department's competency plan.
      Nuclear Med new hires must be trained and competent to work independently in CT within 1 year of hire. CT certification is encouraged

      Qualifications

      Vocational / Technical school preferred

      Associate Degree preferred

      NMTCB or ARRT required
      BLS required

      1 - 3 years experience preferred
