Provide care and support with hygiene and maintenance of skin integrity including minor and complex wound care
Administration of medicines via oral, topical and inhalation routes and administer injections using subcutaneous and intra-muscular routes. This will include immunisations influenza / shingles / pneumonia/ RSV / Covid, B12
Undertaking cervical cytology screening (following additional training)
Assist GP / ANP with minor surgery / invasive procedures for example coil fitting
- Demonstrate the ability to recognise changing priorities seeking advice and guidance from the registered nurses or other registered care professionals as appropriate.
- Support, supervise and act as a role model to undergraduate student nurses (years one and two), student nurse associates, health care support workers and those new to care roles, review the quality of the care they provide, promoting reflection and providing constructive feedback.
- Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision and where required, contribute to setting the agenda and recording minutes.
- Contribute to team reflection activities, to promote improvements in practice and services.
- Protect health through understanding and applying the principles of infection prevention and control, including communicable disease surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship and resistance.

Job summary
ABOUT THE ROLE
Byron PCN includes the 4 GP practices of Oakenhall Medical Practice, The Om Surgery, Torkard Hill Medical Centre and Whyburn Medical Practice, which are all located in the Hucknall area of Nottingham.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Associate to join the PCN to support some of the practices in the delivery of Primary Care nursing. The role will be based within GP practices, delivering nursing clinics and working with / being supported by the Practice Nurse teams. There may be the requirement to occasionally deliver care in patients own homes.
We are looking for a Nurse Associate who is enthusiastic about providing high quality care in primary care. Applications from those already on the Nurse Associate Foundation degree programme or experienced Health Care Assistants looking to start the programme, will be considered (the salary would reflect student status). The postholder will need to be hard working, highly motivated and have the confidence to work independently as well as part of a team.
As a Nursing Associate, you will be supported clinically by the Practice Nurses and the PICS Lead for PCN nursing.
