Job Description

- A registered nurse with advance courses in gerontology and health care services administration
- Proven management experience in LTC - preferable Director of Care experience
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of nursing operational budgets
- Sound knowledge of the Fixing LTCHA and Regulation 79/10, CNO standards and other relevant legislation
- Proven experience in facility management
- Positive working attitude
- Exceptional team building and mentoring and coaching skills a must.
- In collaboration with the senior operations team assists in the development of the mission, vision, value statement for the corporation and Homes.
- Works with the Directors of Care on strategic planning and the setting of annual goals and objectives.
- Provides guidance, direction to the senior management team in the areas of resident care, services and legislative requirements
- Leads the Organization in the development of corporate policies and procedures in all areas.
- Assist the Homes to maintain compliance with all applicable statues, regulations, and government requirements.
- Provides guidance and is actively involved in the development of nursing operating budgets.
- Provides leadership and is actively involved in the development of special programs utilizing an interdisciplinary and interfacility approach.
- Provides input to external committees and task forces on standards, new programs and initiatives.
- Provides guidance and supports the Directors of Care.
- Develops and approves policy and procedures legislation and professional practice standards.
- Provides guidance and support on new funding initiatives
- Monitors the Quality Improvement program in the resident care services areas
- Leads and is actively involved in the corporate Resident Quality Inspection (RQI) of each Home’s programs and services annually and provides feedback through a written report to each Home. Provides guidance and assistance in the development of action plans and implementation processes aimed at minimizing identified gaps.
- Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators used by the Homes
- Is aware of employee’s responsibilities and follows all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Position Overview
Provides overall guidance and support to the Directors of Care and provides leadership to the Organization in the areas of new clinical programs, and implementation and adheres to the Fixing LTCHA and Regulations 79/10 and other relevant legislative requirements.
Leads teams in the development of specialized programs and quality improvement initiatives in resident care and service areas.
