      As a Nurse consultant - Medical office, you help develop and implement strategies for life and health insurance claims, occupational health, and disability management.

      You advise and assist clients and partners in connection with key intervention and development initiatives in your field. You recommend solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies, and programs. The nature of the files and projects requires in depth expertise in your field of activity.

      You develop recommendations, solutions, and action plans in line with the organization's objectives and priorities. You help solve complex problems requiring analysis and an in-depth understanding of the line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in complementary fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.

      General Information on the Position

      Main responsibilities

      • Diagnose issues, challenges, needs and problems to determine target outcomes

      • Develop and help implement objectives, solutions, and action plans. Recommend changes to disability management strategies and processes

      • Review files to verify medical and rehabilitation action plans. Recommend measures to help insureds recover and return to work. Carry out the coordination required to quickly obtain diagnoses and medical opinions to verify treatment plans

      • Analyze information. Perform studies. Develop and propose recommendations. Draft reports

      • Handle cases requiring specialized intervention and develop strategies for them

      • Negotiate return-to-work terms with clients and practitioners, including attending physicians

      • Handle medical office consultation requests for complex cases, develop a response strategy, and follow up on the evolution of the proposed solution

      • Analyze problematic and complex files submitted for consultation by consulting physicians, ensure their relevance, and, if necessary, propose solutions or alternative actions before requesting a medical opinion

      • Serve as a resource for the various practitioners in the evaluation of a medical strategy.

      • Workplace: Position located in Toronto or Levis, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is full-time telework #LI-Remote

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in a related field

      • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

      • Experience in Insurance Industry, WSIB, CPP (an asset)

      Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

      • Member of College of nurses of Ontario (CNO) or Member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec

      • For vacant positions available in Ontario, please note that knowledge of French is required

      Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written, due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
