- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Minimum 3 of relevant and recent care experience.
- Proven clinical experience with patient-focused care, including strong patient assessment, care planning, patient education and documentation skills.
- Effective knowledge transfer, program planning and evaluation skills.
- Superior interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills to facilitate identification and development of staff learning needs
- Committed to excellence in all aspects of the discipline including professional practice, research and education.
- A strong desire to promote professional practice and excellence in evidence-based, patient centered care.
- Demonstrated ability in teaching, program planning and evaluation strategies.
- Proven ability to facilitate ongoing staff development through mentoring, coaching and counseling skills.
- Ability to use and apply adult learning principles in teaching and learning opportunities
- Advanced clinical assessment skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective clinical practice leadership.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to achieve outcomes through programs delivered to individuals and groups.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Effectively uses empathy in interaction with others

- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education
- Gerontology Nursing Certificate.
- Recent and relevant experience as a clinical Nurse Educator.
- 3 years of relevant and recent experience as a Clinical Educator in a Gerontology setting.
- Membership in the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO)/Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
Job Description
Nurse Educator - Reactivation Care Centre & MRHH
Temporary Full Time - Approximately 6 months
The Clinical Educator is responsible, in collaboration with Operations Leadership for the assessment, for the implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and the translation of knowledge to practice to meet targeted Clinical needs.
