POSITION SUMMARY:
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner PRN key responsibilities include but not limited to: Assess, diagnose and treat the mental health needs of patients. Provide therapy and prescribe medications for patients who have mental health disorders or substance abuse problems. Provides emergency psychiatric services, physical and psychosocial examination of patients. Works independently with other members of the ,edical team, with entitlements to specific clinical priviledges.Consults with physicians on cases that are beyond scope of practice.
QualificationsEDUCATION : Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. MSN.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Current Texas State Nursing License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
EXPERIENCE : One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
WORK HOURS: Days and possibly some evenings.
