      Responsibilities

      The Nurse Practitioner Performs health assessments for prospective employees and corporate clients which will include pre-employment, fitness for duty exams and annual health screenings as appropriate to the age of clients and employees served.

      • Performs physical exams and medical evaluations for Occupational Medicine Department.
      • Assesses clients/employees requesting medical advice.
      • Assesses clients/employees returning to duty following an absence as per hospital policy.
      • Communicates with managers regarding employee issues.
      • Responsible for maintaining contact with employees who are out of work, i.e., on disability and workers compensation.
      • Maintains accurate records ON ALL Occupational Medicine charts in accordance with sound clinical practice and in compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policy.
      • Interprets public health laws governing control of communicable disease and works with Infection Control Department.
      • Functions as a resource for client/employee wellness.
      • Assists with all aspects of Respiratory Protection Program (mask fitting).
      • Assists with Flu Program on annual basis.
      • Administers PPD’s/Vaccines as necessary.

      Qualifications

      • Possession of a current valid license to practice nursing in New York State.• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State with at least one (1) year experience.• Occupational Medicine experience preferred.

      • Bachelors in Nursing• Nurse Practitioner Certificate
