Nurse Resident-Transition to Professional Nurse Program
This program provides comprehensive extended nursing orientation based on current theories and concepts using evidenced-based practices. The Transitions Program was developed by expert competent professionals within Driscoll Children’s Hospital specifically for the novice nurse. Whether you are providing care to the neonate or to the adolescent, our program instructors and multidisciplinary professional staff are there to help build your pediatric nursing foundation in a supportive and structured environment. Minimum Requirements:
Limited openings make Driscoll’s Nurse Residency-Transitions Program highly competitive. Selection will be based on meeting the minimum requirements, GPA, completed application, resume, and the interview process.
Required Application Process:
1. Complete the online application
2. Attach a cover letter that includes what interests you about nursing (specifically pediatrics) and Driscoll Children's Hospital
3. Attach a current resume
4. Attach a recent copy of an unofficial school transcript
5. *Optional: Attach up to 2 letters of recommendation

Important Information and Dates:
- RN license must be obtained prior to day 1 of Class (Didactic)
- Selections for interview will be made based on meeting the minimum requirements, GPA, submission of complete application, resume, etc.
- The interview process will include a panel interview and a possible follow-up peer interview.
- Hiring selections will be made for unit-specific decisions based on the above processes
- Start date for the Nurse Residency -Transitions Program/Mandatory Hospital Orientation will take place in October 2025.
