      As a Level III Regional Referral Center, Woman’s is part of a select group of hospitals in the nation that can provide quality care for the smallest and sickest babies. Our unit is designed to focus on intensive care while encouraging family bonding. Our designation means we have a neonatologist and anesthesiologist available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our caring team of neonatologists and specially trained nurses monitor the baby’s condition at all times by direct observation, and by using the latest specialized equipment and technology available. We also participate in the Vermont Oxford Quality Improvement Collaborative with 500 other NICUs across the country to keep abreast of the latest research and emerging practices that offer the best care for premature and critically ill babies.

      Job Summary:

      Supports the nursing staff by performing routine clerical and patient care activities and assigned tasks within the scope of his/her training. Performs other duties as assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

      Requirements:

      • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
      • Must be currently enrolled in a registered nurse program at an accredited school of nursing.
      • Must currently be enrolled in the equivalent of the junior year of nursing school and/or participating in a clinical rotation.

      Job Knowledge:

      Must have basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. Must have thorough knowledge of aseptic techniques and demonstrate the ability to provide quality patient care. Must be able to communicate and work effectively with people. Must be flexible, courteous, organized, able to follow instructions and adapt well to change. Must be willing to learn and develop new techniques.

      Hours
      PRN (As Needed); Required to work 12 hours per biweekly pay period (24 hours a month).

      Pay
      $10.61 - $14.99; plus applicable PRN and shift differentials
