Job summary
We are recruiting for a part time Nursery Nurse.
As a Nursery Nurse in Children's Services, you will be joining a diverse and stimulating area. Our work is wide ranging and we are well respected both locally and as a regional specialist treatment centre. We provide excellent care across medical and surgical specialties. Our ethos of child centred care and multi-professional collaboration drives our service, alongside a commitment to family focused teamwork.
You will be a Level 3 qualified early year's Practitioner with significant post qualification experience and be able to organise, supervise and support children to access play activities, individually and in groups, according to their individual needs and as part of their overall care plan. You will also be required to make up milk feeds as needed.
Strong communication skills are essential as establishing effective verbal and written communication with the children and families and all members of the multidisciplinary team is pivotal to the overall care of children.

Main duties of the job
Ward C2 is a regional Paediatric Haematology / Oncology Ward that cares for children aged 0-16.
The Play Team on Ward C2 provide developmental play and activity opportunities to children and young people throughout their stay, responding to children's individual needs and supporting children and families to cope with their hospital experiences. For long term patients, a key role for the play team is to support global development through play, activities and events.
You will join a well-established and valued Play Team, working across Children's Services. We are a proactive team, determined to provide quality intervention and find the best solutions for patients, families and those we work alongside.
The Play Team work together to maintain and develop a range of projects to enhance the service across Children's Services as well as within their own areas; sharing ideas and resources to deliver positive experiences for children, young people and families.
