      Job summary

      We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person, with a keen interest in the care of the older person, to join our team on the Whalton Unit. The Whalton Unit is based on Ward 5 at Wansbeck General Hospital.

      The Whalton Unit is a 22 bedded in-patient ward which provides care, treatment, and rehabilitation to the older person.

      The post is fully rotational between dayshift and nightshift, and includes working weekends and public holidays.

      • Undertakes a range of delegated clinical and care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.
      • Be able to communicate effectively.

      • Undertakes a limited range of delegated clinical care duties, relevant to the services provided / work area, record patient observations e.g. taking blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring.
      • Wound observations.
      • Removal of peripheral canulae.
      • Urinalysis
      • Aids with personal hygiene, eating and drinking, mobility needs under direct or indirectsupervision.
