- Holds National Care Certificate or be willing to undertake and complete within 12 weeks or starting

- Functional skills level 1 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent
- Previous experience of being a Health Care Support Worker
- Experience working in a healthcare, social care organisation/setting or service industry requiring people contact.
- Ability to work with staff from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Ability to work alone or in small team
- Experience of working within a health care environment.
- To demonstrate a range of procedures and practices, base level of theoretical knowledge
- Demonstrate through previous experience the ability to escalate concerns
- Ability to work in a multi-agency team
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Effective use of electronic solutions to support the delivery of patient care.
- Able to carry out well defined routine tasks.
- Able to work on own initiative, following direction/supervision by a Registered Healthcare Practitioner.

Job summary
Rosemary Ward is a 33 bedded, Community Assessment Bed (CAB) unit situated within Newmarket Community Hospital. About thirteen miles away from West Suffolk Hospital.
The unit has been commissioned by West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust and the service is hosted by West Suffolk Hospital.
We are looking to recruit full and part time Nursing Assistants to join our team on Rosemary Ward at Newmarket Hospital.
The unit is a dynamic, nurse and therapy-led unit where you would work as part of a highly supportive multi-disciplinary team.
We pride ourselves on providing compassionate holistic care to all our patients, putting our patients needs and wishes at the heart of everything we do.
No formal qualification is required but a genuine interest in caring and effective communication is essential and the ability to work a combination of long days, twilights, nights and weekends
Main duties of the job
Hygiene, Assist patients with the maintenance of their personal and oral hygiene, including: Washing and bathing, Mouth and dental care, Hair-washing, Nail care, Shaving, Dressing and undressing. Elimination, Assist patients to use toilet facilities.
Mobility, Assist patients with mobility using manual handling risk assessment and safe manual handling.
4. Nutrition, Assist patients to eat and drink as per identified care needs; identifying, recording and reporting abnormal dietary and fluid intake.
5. Clinical Activities, Measure and observe the physical characteristics/condition of patients:
Temperature, Pulse, Respiration, Blood pressure, Weight, MEWS/CREWS, Oxygen saturation, Use of assessment tools to document pain, measure patients blood sugar if required
Undertake basic cleaning and decontamination of communal equipment between patient use and/or storage
Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, relatives and colleagues, referring to senior staff as necessary.
Privacy, Dignity, Equality, Act to promote patients' equality, diversity and rights at all times. Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Complete the initial training period required to demonstrate knowledge, skills and attitudes in line with Care Certificate Standards and all mandatory training.
