- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
This position serves as a clinical leader, who is responsible for the education, operations and management of the department in partnership with the Director.
As a Nurse Manager, he/she is responsible for the daily operations of the department such as staff assignments, coordination of care, resolving issues, functioning as the resource nurse, participating in collaborative practice, rounding on patients and maintaining TJC standards compliance.
As a Manager/Educator, he/she collaborates and partners with the nursing leadership team in determining operational needs and priorities.
In addition, he/she provides the necessary education, training and coaching to nursing staff based on their learning needs.
On an on-going basis, he/she assesses the competency profile of the nursing staff ensuring required competencies are met.
Competency validation of required specialty-specific knowledge, skills and attitude, is conducted continuously throughout the continuum of the nursing staff employment from orientation and annually thereafter.
The Education Plan and Competency Plan are developed in collaboration with the Director of Education.
- BSN required
- MSN or MA in Nursing or enrolled and graduating within 2 years from hire
- Minimum of three (3) years of MedSurg experience
- NJ Registered Nurse (RN) License
- BLS required
- 1-2 years’ experience as MedSurg Educator preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of MedSurg management or supervisory experience preferred
- Nationally certified RN in clinical or Leadership preferred
