- Minimal direct patient care
- Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms and assembling patient charts
- Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
- Ordering and stocking of supplies
- Cleaning and setting up operating rooms
- Cleaning of operating room and delivery room instruments
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants are required to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program

The starting base rate of pay for the position is $21.03. Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.
The position will be working 32 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 8 hour shifts and every other weekend.
ResponsibilitiesThis role will be working in the Labor and Delivery and Post Partum units. It is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include:
QualificationsRequired
License/Certification/Registration
AND ONE or more of the following:
Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program.
OR
Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
OR
Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
OR
Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position
NOTE: Individuals who have completed a Nursing Assistant program and are scheduled to take the NA Registry exam will be granted 90 days post hire to become active on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
