      Located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, we deliver a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.

      This position will be working 72 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.


      Responsibilities Job Description

      In the Nursing Station Technician role in the NICU, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fast-paced unit. Other job duties include:

      • Minimal direct patient care
      • Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms and assembling patient charts
      • Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
      • Ordering and stocking of supplies

      Qualifications

      Required

      License/Certification/Registration

      • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants are required to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program

      AND ONE or more of the following:

      Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.

      OR

      Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)

      OR

      Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program

      OR

      Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position
