Job Description:
Under the leadership of the department director and the assigned supervisor, the Nutrition Services Shift Leader is responsible for assuring that quality food production occurs. The Shift Leader schedules staff to cover all positions and covers staff shortages during emergencies. The Shift Leader is responsible for identifying potential and actual equipment failures, and works cooperatively with Engineering and/or outside vendors, as appropriate. The Shift Leader is responsible for identifying personnel issues and referring them to the supervisor and/or director.
The Shift Leader must possess leadership skills and the ability to interact with management staff, clinical staff, our own employees and staff from other departments to resolve issues. Excellent problem solving skills and exceptional ability to prioritize is required.
Experience
The ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English is required. Passing a basic reading and math test is required. Intermediate computer skills are required. Basic knowledge of diet therapy is required. Food Service experience is required. Supervisory experience in a food service setting is preferred.
Education
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education or experience in related field required.
Licensure/Certifications
ServSafe certification is required
