- Establishes and maintain effective communication channels with key stakeholders including clients, development teams, and end-users to elicit, analyze, and prioritize business and technical requirements, ensuring alignment.
- Collaborates with development and Enterprise Information Security teams ensuring security concerns are considered in each phase of the product design and implementation.
- Develops and articulates a clear product vision and strategy aligned with the organization's overall objectives.
- Assists in translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. And collaborating with technical teams to ensure the feasibility of feature delivery.
- Collaborates with business and IT leadership to ensure the product aligns with stated business goals.
- Facilitates collaboration between development, design, and business stakeholders cultivating a collaborative/shared product ownership mentality.
- Acts as a passionate advocate for customers, representing their interests and supporting solutions that address their needs and pain points.
- Effectively resolves conflicts and disagreements within the product team or with stakeholders, promoting consensus-building to achieve shared goals.
- Works with the discovery teams and stakeholders to define and prioritize the product backlog ensuring readiness for development team engagement.
- Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including discovery, development, project management, and customer support to ensure a cohesive approach to solution development, delivery, and support.
- Identifies and mitigates risks related to product development, delivery, and adoption. Proactively addresses issues and dependencies to minimize disruptions and delays.
- Prioritizes features and enhancements based on strategic goals, business value, customer impact, and strategic importance, balancing short-term needs with long-term objectives.
- Stays informed about market trends and emerging technologies relevant to the product domain, using this knowledge to inform product strategy and decision-making.
- Perform related work as assigned.
- Maintain relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions.

- Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity.
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field: project management, programming, web design and development, system design/architecture; relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience in product and/or project management (6+ years), in delivery of software solutions, with a track record of successfully leading teams and delivering high-quality solutions.
- Experience as a developer, system architect, or engineer.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and processes, methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.), and modern technologies used in IT system development.
- Skill in leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards a common goal.
- Skill in communication, both written and verbal, to effectively convey product vision, requirements, and priorities to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skill in analysis and problem-solving to identify customer needs and solution opportunities to make data-driven decisions.
- Skill with mentoring business team members and advocating for best practices.
- Skill at technical documentation and translating technical requirements into business understandable use cases, stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to think strategically and align product vision with the overall business objectives of the organization.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including development, design, quality assurance, and stakeholders.
- Ability to make tough decisions and prioritize initiatives based on business impact and resource constraints.

- Ability to work 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

- Ability to provide on-call support, 24 hours per day/7 days per week, during emergency situations.
- Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5%.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, data processing, computer science, MIS, CIS, or closely related discipline.
- Experience with developing and maintaining the following within the Salesforce platform: Classic apps, Lightning apps, Communities, Sharing Settings, Approval Processes, Workflows, Process Builder, Flows, Dashboards, Reports, Apex Triggers and Classes, SOQL/SOSL, Visualforce pages, Aura components, Lightning pages.
- Experience with Salesforce Data Loader or similar Salesforce data manipulation tool.
- Experience with Git or similar source code version control system.
- Experience with Copado or similar CI/CD tool for code validation, promotion, and deployment within a pipeline.
- Experience with product management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience working with MuleSoft, APIs, and modern architecture frameworks.
- Knowledge of IT security and data governance.
- Certifications: Salesforce Certified Administrator; Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder; Salesforce Certified Platform Developer; Certified Scrum Developer.
- Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (SAFe POPM), and/or any Salesforce certification.

As a Technical Product Owner (TPO) with the Texas Office of the Attorney General, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by serving as the vital connection between business objectives and technical solutions. Your skills in requirements gathering and stakeholder collaboration will be crucial as you work closely with developers and business partners to deliver products that meet user needs while maintaining technical feasibility. You'll play a key role in balancing innovation with realistic timelines and resource management, ensuring the product roadmap is both ambitious and achievable.
In this role, you'll shape technical strategy, contribute to product quality, and address technical debt while managing dependencies and system performance driving business outcomes. Your understanding of technical architecture and software development practices will ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable. As a trusted decision-maker during sprint planning and execution, you'll help mitigate risks, keep teams on track, and champion continuous improvement. Through collaboration and leadership, you'll help optimize resources, foster teamwork, and contribute to delivering impactful, high-quality solutions.
