      Systems Engineer III

      BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position performs moderate research, design, and systems engineering

      assignments. This position is also responsible for management support and triage.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • 3+ years of Systems Engineering experience or 1+ years DevOps Engineering experience
      • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.

      REQUIRED SKILLS:

      • Strong Knowledge of Cloud Computing.
      • Knowledge of CI/CD.
      • Knowledge of scripts for automation.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills.
      • Understanding of systems such as Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system, and
      • Windows infrastructure.
      • Knowledge of virtual server environments and cloud computing environments.
      • Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
      • Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role
      • Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows
      • Good knowledge of Ruby or Python
      • Working knowledge of databases and SQL
      • Collaborative team spirit.

      ACCOUNTABILITIES:

      • Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support
      • Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
      • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
      • Develop scripts to automate visualization
      • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
      • Construct simple job control language (JCL) or scripts for processing of workloads by
      • system.
      • Apply basic problem-solving skills in multiple operating environments to support assignments
      • involving the execution of a series of related tasks.
      • Apply basic knowledge of system components in completing assigned tasks (i.e., storage
      • systems, Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system and Windows infrastructure).
      • Diagnose system performance problems.
      • Install or troubleshoot programs within system environments.
      • Perform online system functions to assist with tasks encountered in execution of daily
      • responsibilities such as utility functions and editing of files.
      • Assist in the development lists/scripts for execution of commonly used processes and
      • automation of simple tasks.
      • Provide prompt recovery and problem escalation for the exceptions, extrapolating and
      • integrating information within defined boundaries, using multiple system management and
      • problem management tools.
      • Assist in daily support of the systems/products assigned, through early detection and pursuit
      • or changes in system responses or operation.
      • Work closely with support groups to refine system monitoring and reporting, and to assist
      • them in their analysis and problem recovery.
      • Proper documentation and closure of tasks, changes, and requests.
      • All other duties as assigned.
