Job Description
- Req#: 94310
- Provide acute nursing assessment, treatment and case management of work-related injuries and illnesses
- Perform calibration, operation, and maintenance of testing equipment (EKG, spirometer, audiometer, Titmus vision tester)
- Conduct random, pre-placement and for cause drug and alcohol testing in accordance with BASF and U.S. DOT requirements. Communicate with Human Resources and Corporate Medical as appropriate.
- Performing routine and pre-placement employee testing and biological monitoring in compliance with OSHA and BASF policies (i.e. phlebotomy, urine collection, vital signs, audiometric testing /hearing protection device fit testing, lung function testing, vision testing)
- Ordering and stocking in date, appropriate supplies for emergency use and minor injury/illness treatment. Accurate accounting of purchases and allocations to budget line items.
- Coordinating payment for services and supplies with contracted groups (Quest, First Lab, cardiology/audiology consults, etc.)
- Rotating on-call responsibilities outside regular clinic hours – although rare in occurrence, may require off-hours response to site.
- On occasion may be required to work overtime outside normal clinic hours including nights or weekends (provide sufficient overlap to site operations shift schedule)
- Support Freeport Site Services with FA/CPR trainer
- May support Freeport Site Services with assisting EMS continuing education coordination for site Fire Department membership
- Complete off hours vaccination administration and outside of clinic

Required criteria:
Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
Up to date basic life support/CPR certification
Competent in use of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Proficient in phlebotomy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and outside of primary work group
Preferred criteria:
At least 5 years of work experience as a Registered Nurse
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing
Trained in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support
DOT drug testing collector certification
Certified in Occupational Hearing Conservation
NIOSH trained/certified in performing and interpreting pulmonary function testing
Experienced in working with Workers’ Compensation
AHA First Aid / CPR Trainer
