CentraCare has an exciting new opportunity for a part-time APP in a hybrid model of care between Occupational Health and Same Day care, based at our Southway clinic; creating a new care delivery model to meet the needs of employees and align with industry trends.

We are seeking a .4 FTE Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, able to see and treat all ages from pediatrics through geriatrics) to meet the Occupational Health and Same Day needs of our patients.

Responsibilities

As an Occupational Medicine Provider, it is your job to keep people active and on the job with their employer, focused primarily on workplace health and safety. As a Provider with the group, you will help screen and monitor employment eligibility for local companies and manage injuries that occur on the job. It would be common to see patients for the following:

Physicals both DOT & Non-DOT for preplacement and periodic checks
Drug screening
Breath alcohol testing
Hearing conservation exams/testing
Rehabilitation services
Return to work evaluations

Urgent Care is a quick and convenient way for patients to obtain healthcare for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries when they are unable to see or do not have a primary care provider. As an Urgent Care Provider, you will see and treat common health concerns such as:

Abdominal pain
Acute injury evaluation
Blood clots or leg pain, joint and back pain
Broken bones
Cough and cold symptoms
Cuts requiring stitches
Dislocations, sprains and strains
Eye pain and injury
Fast-onset joint and back pain
Fever, dehydration, nausea or vomiting
Headache/migraine/sinus infection
Mild chest pain with no cardiac history
Minor head injury
Minor injuries from motor vehicle collisions
Nosebleed
Pediatric illness and injuries
Respiratory issues including asthma
Strep throat
Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing
Skin issues, rash, cyst, boil, abscess
Urinary tract infection (UTI)
Vaginal discharge

Schedule consists of day hours Monday – Friday, 3 days per week. No evenings, weekends, holidays, call.

Requirements

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

Eligibility for the position entails:

Completion of a formal nurse practitioner or physician assistant program approved by a national accrediting agency
Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Current or pending licensure in the State of Minnesota

In addition, all applicants must have a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number prior to receiving clinical privileges.

Job Summary

The APP provides direct, high-quality patient care services requiring extensive skills and competency. The APP makes independent and collaborative healthcare decisions. The APP practices within the scope of practice as defined by certification/licensure standards and state and federal regulations. The Advanced Practice provider follows established protocols and collaborates with physicians, however, does have day-to-day independence in health care decisions.
