      Job summary

      We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist who wishes to work in a fast and challenging environment and who would like to develop their clinical knowledge in the areas of learning disability and autism. The post is a spilt role over 2 sites . Pinetree Court is a Learning Disability Service based within easy reach of local facilities in Cardiff.

      Pinetree has a clear model of delivery that supports the service users journey using positive behavioural approaches and active participation.

      Occupational Therapy underpins this approach through use of MOHO explore and sensory assessments as well as supporting community and vocational opportunities. The second site is at Beechwood , a college set in extensive grounds in Sully. The Occupational Therapist will also be part of a team providing sensory and functional assessments.

      Main duties of the job

      • To provide Clinical related Occupational Therapy intervention guided by the service users specific needs.
      • Input into PBS plans
      • To develop and implement treatment programmes either in groups or to individuals in close liaison with other disciplines involved in the service users care, having emphasis on multi-disciplinary teamwork.
      • To demonstrate best practice interventions within specialist area.
      • Regularly monitor and evaluate the Occupational Therapy service within Pinetree Court.
      • To be involved when appropriate in the assessment of aids/ adaptations to enable the service user to improve/ maintain own level of functional daily living skills.
      • Practice in accordance with legislation according to your clinical area.
      • Ensure that all service users within Pinetree Court have a comprehensive assessment that assists in the planning of their programme based on the service users needs.
      • Evaluate and modify interventions using appropriate outcome measures.

      Located close to Cardiff city centre, Pinetree Hospital offers accommodation split across single-gender units. We deliver individually tailored support based around models of care including Positive Behaviour Support, Active Support and Building Better Lives.
