      Job summary

Come and join one of the UK's largest providers of complex care. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

Are you an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to make a real impact in neurological rehabilitation? Join our specialist team at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre on a fixed-term 1-year contract and be part of an innovative service that combines expert clinical care with cutting-edge rehabilitation technology to support service users on their journey to recovery.

      Main duties of the job

Woodlands is a specialist rehabilitation service providing expert care for individuals with conditions such as brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, Huntington's disease, and Guillain-Barre Syndrome. We are currently expanding our capabilities to admit more acute patients at the early stages of their rehabilitation journey, including those requiring tracheostomy care.

Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to delivering patient-centred therapy that maximises independence, function, and quality of life. We work closely with patients, families, and external healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible rehabilitation outcomes.

As part of our commitment to enhancing recovery, Woodlands has recently conducted a trial in partnership with Neural Pathways, introducing state-of-the-art advanced therapy equipment. This includes:

MYRO -A versatile interactive therapy surface that enhances upper limb function, coordination, and cognitive skills.

Diego VR - A virtual reality system that supports movement therapy and engagement through immersive rehabilitation exercises.

PABLO - A sophisticated system designed to assess and train fine motor control, grip strength, and functional hand movements.

The success of this trial has been remarkable, with positive patient outcomes demonstrating the potential benefits of these advanced rehabilitation tools, and we are hopeful that we can make these a permanent feature of our service in the future.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
