      Berenberg is one of Europe’s leading privately owned banks with a strong presence across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Wealth and Asset Management. The Investment Banking division is headquartered in London, with offices across Europe and the US.

      Your internship will take place in the Investment Banking division of Berenberg, more specifically within the ECM Origination, Structuring & Execution team of the Investment Banking Continental Europe (IBCE) subdivision based in Paris. IBCE is involved in pitches and ECM transactions (IPOs, secondary placings, capital increases, equity-linked, etc.) for clients in France, Italy, Iberia and BeNeLux.

      What would you do?

      At Berenberg we believe talented individuals are the key to our success. This 6-month internship in the ECM Origination, Structuring & Execution team, starting from July 2024, will not only provide you with comprehensive training and exposure to market-shaping transactions, but also grant you with the necessary skillset to excel in your role. As an intern in our team, you will:

      • Actively support in the origination and execution of ECM transactions
      • Research and analysis of financial statements, general market conditions, industry-specific trends, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held companies
      • Assist in the preparation of pitches and execution materials (e.g. kick-off book, internal briefing materials, marketing feedback…)
      • Upon successful completion of the internship programme, candidates will be potentially considered for a full-time analyst role.

      Who we'd like to meet?

      We encourage applications from candidates with the following attributes:

      • Availability to start in July 2024
      • Excellent academic background, currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master programme at a top university, ideally with a focus on business, finance, or STEM
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Good command of French preferred
      • A demonstrated interest/ experience in ECM or M&A transactions
      • Analytical, adaptive team player with strong work ethic, demonstrable leadership skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines under high pressure
      • Fundamental understanding of accounting, company valuations, methodologies, and applications is required
