We have experienced explosive growth as a leader in the Financial Services industry, and we are looking to grow our Information Security team! The Offensive Security Engineer(Threat Hunter) role will report directly to, and support, the Information Security Team Lead, as well as the Chief Information Security Officer.
In this position, the Offensive Security Engineer(Threat Hunter) will proactively search for and identify advanced cyber threats that may evade more traditional security measures by analyzing data, identifying vulnerabilities and helping to mitigate risks before they can impact UWM.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in either penetration testing or network security and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Perform regular threat hunting activities to proactively identify and mitigate threats
Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches
Analyze large datasets from various sources (logs, security tools, etc.) to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential threats that may have been missed by automated security systems.
Formulate and test hypotheses about potential threats based on threat intelligence and data analysis.
Analyze threat sources and their potential impact
Develop appropriate response strategies
Provide clear and concise guidance on how to best remediate or mitigate any security findings
Perform other essential duties as assigned
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Must Have Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology
Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles
Expertise in threat detection and mitigation techniques
Ability to work collaboratively with IT security teams
Excellent written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to write with purpose, clarity, and accuracy
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills, applied with a solution-focused attitude
Strong self-directed work habits, exhibiting initiative, drive, creativity, maturity, self-assurance and professionalism
This position requires on-site attendance
Nice to Have Requirements:
Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry
