Obtains and/or verifies demographics, Race and Ethnicity information and insurance coverage utilizing multiple databases and updates registration and accounts in Epic Practice Management.
Collects patient co-pays and payments on account balances following established cash handling policies and procedures.
Reviews priority messages and takes appropriate follow-up action.
Distributes forms and documents to patients, ensures all forms are complete, signed, entered into EDR (Electronic Dental Record) and sent for scanning as appropriate.
Verifies client information, ask appropriate information or questions, provide information about appointment or information needed for updates or release of information.
Acts as the first point of contact for clients and other clinic visitors.
Greets patients/guests promptly upon arrival, answers incoming calls timely and in a courteous and professional manner.
Provides information; assists in directing patient to services, confirms appointments.
Acts as liaison with treatment staff and providers.
Pro-actively monitors client wait times.
Follows up on client concerns and takes action or refers to appropriate source.
Help dental program increase patient access and engagement by utilizing a variety of outreach strategies.
Keeps provider teams informed of schedule changes.
Monitors provider schedules to ensure appointment accuracy and to maintain a 100% fill rate.
Schedules appointments according to program policies and guidelines.
Accurately checks in and checks out patients in a timely manner.
Documents patient related issues in Dentrix in the office journal.
Processes pre-authorizations and referrals as requested.
Supports emergency or last-minute schedule changes or additions, as needed or required.
Utilizes interpreters in-person or via phone as needed.
Encourages team unity through actively sharing information, working collaboratively, productive problem solving, and putting team success first.
Effectively communicating with peers and supervisor daily to ensure all members of the team are achieving a common goal that aligns with ICS and Health Department’s vision.
Backs up team members as needed.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; AND
Two (2) years of general office support or customer service experience dealing directly with the public.
To protect the health of the community and employees, Multnomah County requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exception by October 18, 2021 as a qualification of employment.
The rule applies to all employees, as allowable by law. Candidates who receive an offer of County employment must provide proof of vaccination upon hire or submit an exception request prior to their start date.
Experience providing professional customer service to diverse communities
Training or experience working with data entry, databases or Electronic Health Records Systems such as EPIC or Dentrix
Previous experience working in a medical or health related environment
