Arts and Sciences | Physics AdministrationProvides administrative support and general staff assistance to the NanoSystems Laboratory (NSL) facility, an earnings operation user facility located in the Department of Physics; acts as receptionist for research facility at the NSL service desk and provides customer service to facility users and the general public; processes facility user documentation; performs facility monthly billing; performs purchasing, shipping and receiving tasks; assists in monthly reconciliation of financial accounts; assists in acquiring, organizing and submitting financial data information; records facility data and maintains records; assists in the preparation and distribution of program materials; assists in maintenance of website; assists with travel arrangements and reimbursements of travel expenses; monitors transactions in NSL to ensure compliance with Departmental, College, and University policies; assists in preparation of written facility documents including operating manuals and safety protocols; assists in scheduling user training; assists in maintenance coordination for instruments, equipment and facilities; as needed, serves as back-up for selected aspects of facility maintenance and operation, occasionally performing manual labor; determines requirements, finds vendors, orders and distributes various supplies; hires, trains, schedules, and supervises 2 - 3 student workers performing various tasks throughout NSL facility. Serves as back-up for maintaining department liquid helium supply and distribution; Serves as back-up for maintaining accounts books on all financial matters associated with the budget account of the Department of Physics Liquid Gases Facility and for billing its users appropriately.
Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis and climb a ladder.
Desired Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in an administrative support capacity; knowledge of OSU policies procedures and systems highly desired; knowledge and ability with MS Office knowledge and ability with SQL and HTML experience with earnings operations ; excellent verbal and written communication skills desired
Additional Information:
The target hiring range is $14.56-$19.42 per hour. The offered salary will fall within this range based on the candidate's qualification, the unit's budget and internal equity.
