      The Department of Marine Resources is seeking applicants for an Office Associate II position in the Licensing Division in the Augusta Office.

      BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Review and process Marine Resources applications in LEEDS system
      • Open, sort, and stamp in the mail
      • Answer 5-line phone system
      • Research complicated issues on applications
      • Assist with questions on the phone while assisting with online questions and procedures
      • Assist walk-ins at the counter with questions about applications
      • Prepare deposit report
      • Tag reports
      • Printing of licenses
      • Run complex queries
      • Order and track inventory items associated with licensing
      • Compile and complete mail merges
      • Data entry and perform routine filing
      • Review, process, and enter apprentice and student log sheets to determine eligibility for a commercial lobster license

      This person will need to understand DMR laws and rules. This individual should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel including mail merge functions in support of large mailings. Having some familiarity with Access is a plus.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of modern office practices to perform complex, varied office support tasks, and 2) the ability to use independent decision-making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, Office Assistant II, and Office Associate I.
