      The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is responsible for overseeing all human resource functions within the school district. This role ensures compliance with education policies, fosters a positive work environment for educators and staff, and supports the district’s mission of providing high-quality education.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

      • Experience in Human Capital leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
      • Knowledge of school employment laws, collective bargaining, and HR best practices.
      • Experience with organizational strategic planning and plan implementation.
      • Experience with HR software and data-driven decision-making tools.
      • Knowledge of the Fort Wayne community and ability to translate into resources for the district

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in human resources, education administration, or related field
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading one or more HR functions (e.g., recruitment, performance management) in either a school district or another field.
      • Certification such as SHRM, PHR or SPHR is preferred.
      • Indiana driver’s license
