      The Office of Undergraduate Admission actively seeks to attract and recruit a student body of motivated students with high academic ability that will diversify and enrich the undergraduate community and the world while at the University of Virginia, and afterwards.

      The Office will be hiring undergraduate interns for the academic year 2022 -2023. This job has two major components. The most important task, as well as the one that will take up the majority of your time, will be leading Group Tours. In addition, interns will be assigned specific roles/responsibilities in the areas of marketing/social media, recruitment, special events, virtual information sessions, and diversity outreach based on their interests and abilities as well as the needs of the office.

      Job Description/Expectations:

      • Work approximately 20 hours per week (including the possibility of Saturday Group Tours).

      • Provide Group Tours as needed for prospective students

      • Assist with special events as needed.

      • Perform other related duties as requested, including, but not limited to reception work, clerical tasks, virtual information sessions, etc.

      • Perform work in a professional manner and complete assignments on time

      • Observe time reporting rules and regulations

      • Punctuality

      • Maintain a friendly, helpful, supportive and team-like atmosphere among coworkers

      Students serving as Admission Interns are responsible for behaving in accordance with the University of Virginia’s Codes of Conduct and Honor. They are expected to act as representatives of the Office and the University. Failure to meet job expectations, or behavior not in congruence with the University, may result in loss of this internship opportunity.

      Pay rate: $13.00 per hour

      Education: Current 2nd year or higher UVA student

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS
      This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job also requires weekly tours of Grounds that are 60-90 minutes.
