      The work of this position will take place in the local Clackamas or Oregon City ODHS office.

      Summary of Duties

      As an Office Specialist 2, you will:

      • Provide clerical support to child welfare caseworkers and unit supervisors.

      • Serve as a receptionist at the front desk of the child welfare office – checking people in, providing customer service, answering the phone.

      • Ensure the timely production of all payments and policy and procedural requirements.

      • Review forms and letters for accuracy.

      • Process all paperwork, guaranteeing documentation of responsible services to clients and consumers.

      • Perform a wide variety of administrative, general office and record processing tasks.

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

      • An associate degree in any field; OR

      • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • Experience navigating technology and different computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office).

      • Experience providing customer service to diverse groups of people.

      • Experience using attention to detail to create and review documents.

      • Experience conducting work with cultural humility and responsiveness.

      • Experience working both independently and with a team to reach a common goal.

      • Experience adapting with ease to changing environments and priorities.

      *Preference will be given to candidates that are bilingual in Spanish and English.

      Working Conditions

      • Your work will take place in the Clackamas or Oregon City ODHS office.

      • Your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST).

      • You will have frequent travel between the Clackamas and Oregon City ODHS offices to provide coverage.

      • You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.

      Background Checks and Requirements

      • Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.

      • The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. ODHS will use E-Verify to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
