      Short Description

      Responsible for all aspects of the Centralized Authorization & Scheduling Team (CAST), including scheduling, insurance authorizations and referrals, and monitoring the accuracy and quality of the work performed by CAST staff, including phone calls. Collaborates with the manager to ensure optimum patient, provider, and staff satisfaction. Maintains and consistently follows (and ensures staff follows) established policies and procedures.

      Experience Required

      • Assists with daily work assignments and quality review
      • Reviews schedules for incorrect/inappropriate scheduling
      • Facilitates urgent appointments/services in conjunction with Office Managers
      • Addresses and helps to resolve patient issues
      • Ensures proper maintenance and utilization of site equipment and facilities and effectively monitors purchases and utilization of supplies

      Education Requirements

      • High School graduate or equivalent

      Must comply fully with all organizational policies and federal, state and local laws and government regulations including but not limited to; practice management, billing, dealing honestly with customers, suppliers, and consultants, contract negotiation, payroll, ptime, human resource policies, competitive analysis, antitrust issues, anti-kickback and false claims issues, charging of costs/time card reporting, safeguarding confidential information, safeguarding restricted information, acceptance of business courtesies, insider trading, conflict of interest, accurate books and accounts, using health system resources properly, HIPPA, and any other applicable laws, regulations or statutes. As a subject matter expert, provides support to departmental staff
