      Position Summary

      Provides assistance and protection to persons and property at Hunterdon Healthcare. Ensures Medical Center regulations and procedures are followed and takes appropriate action to ensure the safety of all.

      Primary Position Responsibilities

      1. Patrol - Conduct security and safety patrols of the hospital, both internal and external, to enforce all hospital-wide and department-specific security and safety policies.

      2. Respond to Emergencies – Respond to all security and emergency situations as dispatched or assigned and initiate appropriate actions during; fire alarm activations, workplace violence situations, medical emergencies, and all other emergency situations.

      3. Documentation - Complete and submit all required security reports and daily activity reports.

      4. Customer Service - Greets and assists all persons interacting in the hospital in a courteous and helpful manner.

      5. Controls patient, visitor, staff, and vendor entry to the facility utilizing the appropriate visitor and vendor software.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Education:

      Required:

      High School Diploma or Equivalent

      Preferred:

      Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice


      Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

      Required:

      None

      Preferred:

      1 Year Experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or related field


      License, Registry or Certification :

      Required:

      Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a minimum of three (3) years driving experience

      Within 90 Days of Employment all officers must be certified in Workplace Violence Prevention.

      Within 90 Days of Employment all officers must complete the IAHSS Basic Officer Certification Program.

      Preferred:

      CPR/AED
