      Overview / Responsibilities

      Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Offshore Structural Engineer with experience in the offshore oil and gas industry with an Alaska SE license to work at our Park Ten Office in Houston, TX

      Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance or per diem. Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.

      Contributes to project technical delivery through:

      • Use of technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments, sometimes representing a significant portion of a larger project
      • Production of a range of engineering deliverables including complex problems
      • Evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks
      • Ability to makes design recommendations
      • Ability to complete almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction
      • Development and review of designs, drawings, and other engineering deliverables involving both existing and new technology and applications
      • Ability to serve as the primary discipline engineer on projects with small to medium complexity

      Skills / Qualifications

      • Alaska SE required
      • Minimum 10 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry
      • Bachelor's Degree (minimum) or Master's Degree (preferred) in Civil / Structural Engineering discipline
      • Proficient knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and standards (API RP 2A, AISC, ISO, etc)
      • Proficient with industry software (SACS, SESAM, ANSYS, MathCAD, etc)
      • Able to provide guidance and direction to a project team
      • Able to recommend solutions to technical issues during the course of performing assignments
      • Able to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to the assignment / task
      • Able to create functional and cost effective designs that meet project requirements
      • Able to analyze and interpret structural drawings
      • Demonstrates a proficiency in understanding project planning
      • Proactively communicates across work groups to resolve barriers and applies sound technical skills
      • Conducts work in a professional manner
      • Good interpersonal and team working skills, builds positive relationships
      • Good verbal and written communication skills
      • Creative and innovative in finding solutions
      • Enthusiastic, conscientious, and committed to continuous professional development
      • High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work
