**What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):**
- Provide strategic oversight for the Office of Legislative Affairs and related bureaus
- Conduct legislative bill research and perform policy analysis
- Coordinate legislative analysis efforts across various departments
- Represent the department at public meetings and communicate departmental positions
- Verify fiscal analyses and contribute to strategic planning initiatives
**What is Required (Qualifications):**
- Bachelor’s degree in any major
- Minimum of four years of professional experience, including two years at the experienced (P11) level or one year at the advanced (P12) level
- Ability to work onsite in Michigan on specified days
- Submission of a cover letter, detailed resume, and official college transcripts with the application
- Experience in legislative analysis or related fields
**How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):**
- Experience providing testimony at legislative committee meetings
- Familiarity with working with stakeholders to advance public policy solutions
- Previous experience interpreting existing laws and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive legislative research
- Background in public administration or finance
