      The Oligo Platform Biology Investigator/Science Leader will help establish and manage GSK’s new oligo platform biology lab with a focus on enabling identification and characterization of oligonucleotides to support portfolio and platform projects.

      This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

      • Help establish and manage the new in vitro screening lab within Oligo Platform Biology at GSK
      • Enable internal oligo screening capabilities through establishment and development of robust, high throughput, cell-based screening (e.g. 384 well RNA isolation, qPCR, westerns, ELISA, Sequencing, imaging and others)
      • Help recruit, manage and develop a team of scientists to enable successful delivery of project and platform goals
      • Identify and procure equipment to facilitate oligo screening
      • Continually optimize and validate new biological assays to drive identification and characterization of superior oligonucleotide therapeutics at GSK
      • Serve as the oligo biology representative in project team meetings/discussions
      • Collaborate and communicate across various teams to build robust workflows that deliver on portfolio endpoints
      • Independently design and execute experiments including the analysis and presentation of data across groups
      • Develop protocols, maintain ELN, and regularly review literature to maintain knowledge of scientific trends and new technologies

      Why you?

      Basic Qualifications:

      We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

      • BS with 10 +years in biological sciences with 4+ years in oligo.

      • 4+ years of industry experience with high throughput, cell based screening assays, for oligonucleotide therapeutics (ASO/siRNA etc..)

      • Experience with high throughput RNA isolation, qPCR, NGS, westerns, ELISA, stability assays and imaging.

      • Experience in assay development and troubleshooting on a medium to high throughput level.

      • 2 + years of supervisory/management experience.
      • Experience with a variety of cell lines, primary cells and cell models (liver, CNS, lung, kidney etc…)

      Preferred Qualifications:

      If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

      • PhD or MS in molecular or cell biology or related field.
      • Independent individual with strong initiative.
      • · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.

      • Sense of urgency, flexibility, independence and accountability
      • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels both inside and outsider of organization.
      • Maintain a high level of integrity while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities.
      • Must be a committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a team-based culture.
