      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Perform data management and abstracting functions in compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards
      - Analyze complex clinical information to ensure data accuracy and completeness in the registry
      - Utilize online tools and resources for accurate data entry and maintain compliance with registry policies
      - Review data for completeness, pursuing missing information as necessary by contacting external sources
      - Assist in coordinating oncology-related educational conferences and maintaining the Cancer Registry Policy and Procedure Manual

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field is required; Bachelor's degree with a science emphasis is strongly preferred
      - Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of registry experience or 5+ years of full-spectrum Cancer Registry operations experience in a CoC approved hospital
      - 5+ years of clinical medical experience is required
      - Willingness to consider candidates currently in a Cancer Information Management Program with clinical experience for a Level 1 Data Specialist opportunity
      - Strong understanding of federal/state regulations and accreditation standards related to cancer data management

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience with cancer registry operations and familiarity with coding systems such as CS, AJCC, FORDS, and SEER
      - Participation in quality improvement initiatives and familiarity with cancer registry policies
      - Advanced knowledge of clinical pathways and NCCN guidelines related to cancer treatments
