What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze, abstract, and code demographic, patient, and cancer-related information
- Ensure correct staging, coding, and subsequent patient care evaluation
- Coordinate staff support for cancer conference
- Facilitate dissemination of registry data
- Participate in telecommuting work arrangement with manager's approval
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of an associate degree obtained after 2010
- 1-3 years of cancer registry experience
- Current Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification
- Ability to type 35 words per minute
- Bachelor's degree in health information or related field preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 3000 hours of experience plus two years of supervisory experience
- Background in oncology
- 0-2 years of experience as an Rx Technician or Customer Service Representative in a healthcare-related service
