- counseling new patients on their oral or injectable anticancer drug regimens and regularly assessing patients for toxicities prior to subsequent cycles of chemotherapy.
- support/assist, when needed, satellite pharmacy operations responsible for compounding/dispensing all injectable and infusion related antineoplastic drugs for the health care center.
- help manage post-hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients reviewing preparative chemo drug regimens and supportive care while in hospital receiving either an allogeneic or an autologous transplant.
- Duties in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Ambulatory Infusion Clinic.
- Work closely with other providers, nurses, pharmacist and other disciplines for caring our veterans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards meeting at the VA and other meetings at affiliates.
- Participate in research and clinical trials.
- Actively participate in training residents, fellows and other medical students that rotate at the VA.
- Sign chemo regimens, obtain patient consents, triage consults and follow VA policies and procedures for conduct, time and attendance and scheduling rules.
- Experience in CAR-T and Bi-Specific Antibody therapies including identifying appropriate patients for administration.

Position Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for the medication therapy management of both acute and ambulatory care cancer patients; assessing, consulting, and treatment in the hematology and oncology fields. Serve as an expert in chemotherapy and other hematology and oncology procedures.
Contract
This role will be telehealth assisting patients out of the Durham, NC Veteran Affairs Medical Center. The contract is for 1 year with the potential to extend for up to 2 years in total.

Day Shift.
