Job Description
- Req#: JR-1019210
- Instruct the ASO section of STAT1P98 in the Fall term and the ASO section of MATH1P97 in the Winter term, and one additional course annually (not exceeding the maximum of two credits per academic year);
- Serve as the Course Coordinator for STAT1P98 in the Fall and MATH1P97 in the Winter under the supervision of the Service Course Committee; including hybrid (in-person/virtual) office hours for administrative course issues at least 3 days a week;
- Design, develop, innovate and evaluate online versions of courses that provide fundamental understanding, concepts, technical skills to students with content provided by faculty;
- Collaborate with faculty members and subject matter experts to develop engaging and effective online course content, comprehensive course materials, and learning activities that cater to the unique needs of online learners;
- Maintain and enrich existing online courses under faculty or committee supervision;
- Support the quality and integrity of existing online courses, implement quality assurance measures, support course evaluations, gather feedback, collect and analyze data/information, propose opportunities for improvement, and implement enhancements based on data-driven insights;
- Support online assessment tools, mathematics and statistics software;
- Collect and analyze data regarding the use of mathematics and statistics software and online tools and present reports to the Department;
- Create online resources to support first-year students enrolled in Mathematics and Statistics courses, and enhance their learning experience;
- Develop online materials to foster outreach and recruitment of new undergraduate and graduate students.
- Graduate Degree in Mathematics or Statistics;
- 3-5 years of University level course administration experience in an online teaching environment, including translation of content into an online format and course administration;
- Demonstrated computer competency with Microsoft Office, web applications and web maintenance, Adobe, Gradebook, Turnitin, and Learning Management Systems;
- Proven understanding of mathematics and statistics pedagogy with the ability to remain current with best practices in pedagogy, online course design, and delivery;
- Ability to effectively communicate mathematical and statistical concepts in an online format and promote student involvement and learning;
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions and guidance;
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to interact with persons from diverse backgrounds;
- Ability to establish priorities, organize own work, and work with minimal supervision;
- Innovative and creative proposals to improve online experiences.
- Job Grade (M), Salary Scale ($68,600-$117,600)*;
- Target hiring salary: $68,600;

The Online Course Developer/Administrator provides leadership in online teaching development in Mathematics & Statistics by designing, creating, managing, and evaluating online courses (developed by faculty), coordinating large service courses, and creating online resources.
