      Open VMS Engineer

      What does a successful Open VMS Engineer do at Fiserv?

      This individual will perform system engineering and support activities on large-scale VMS environment

      • Systems implementation:
        • Project planning, implementation and documentation
        • Lead VMS, Network, and other major software release planning and implementation
        • Configuring, planning and managing implementation of system hardware upgrades
        • Functions as the technical lead on larger projects.
      • Systems maintenance:
        • Implementing and maintaining procedures to collect performance metrics and produce system performance and capacity reports
        • Performs analyses (e.g., performs technical research in order to assess system performance and capacity)
        • Manage and maintain 24x7 uptime on the VMS systems including client related connectivity, application and platform issues
      • System architecture:
        • Research products, solutions, technologies, and apply results to create presentations/documentation
        • Establish and implement auditing standards and present evidence to the auditors (internal and external) for PCI, FFIEC, and SOC assessments
        • Works with business leaders to provide support, advice, and guidance on the correct application of a products/technology solutions
        • Applies technical expertise to support the deployment of technology architecture and the total system solution
        • Identifying system performance bottlenecks and recommending performance improvement solutions
      • Referent platform SME
        • Provide mentoring and training to team
        • Expert Knowledge of VMS OS, hardware platforms, and supporting applications
        • Reviews, for accuracy, the technical content of proposals. This requires the incumbent to have a full, working knowledge of services/products/technology solutions

      What you need to have:

      • 4 year degree in relevant field or 5+ years of related technical experience
      • 5 to 10 years of experience on VMS systems
      • Strong understanding and operational experience in a large scale enterprise level environment

      Background in the following:

      • Experience with Open VMS Alpha systems software installation and upgrades Consoleworks

      What would be nice to have:

      • Experience with Integrity Systems a big plus
      • Hands on experience with OpenVMS 8.4
      • Network with HPE TCPIP
      • Hardware and system experience encompass cluster technologies
      • Experience with TCP/IP

      Salary Range

      $82,200.00 - $141,000.00

      These pay ranges apply to employees in Colorado, Hawaii and Washington. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ. Certain Positions are Commissions eligible.
