Job Description

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Six to twelve months’ prior experience in a secretarial position
- Successful completion of all orientation programs
- Medical Background
- EPIC experience helpful
- Shift Working: Monday-Friday, Every Other Weekend Required
- Day Shift, 9:00AM-5:00PM
- Full-Time, 37.5 Hours Per Week
- Schedules operative procedures via electronic scheduling system, using knowledge of procedures, area of body involved, equipment conflicts, staffing, surgeon preferences, scheduling habits and suite utilization
- Works independently at the information desk, contacting patient care areas, takes messages and communicates to appropriate person

Job Overview:
Schedules operative procedures via electronic scheduling system, using knowledge of procedures, area of body involved, equipment conflicts, staffing, surgeon preferences, scheduling habits and suite utilization. Works independently at the information desk, contacting patient care areas, takes messages and communicates to appropriate people. The Operating Room Scheduler is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
